After years this member confessed to Hennie's parents that the Buffel story was just a cover-up. Original cause of death given to family was - Died in Freak Accident, fell off of a stationary Buffel, while busy with township patrols in KwaZikele, Port Elizabeth. He was taken to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

- 1985 33300 — Special Constable Katopora Tjiposa, 80830078SP, South West Africa Police Counter-Insurgency Wing: Ops-K Division (KOEVOET) (South West African Police), aged 25. Killed in action, Counter-insurgency duty in South West Africa. Member of Koevoet.

- 1986 31212 — Lance Corporal Jan Hendrik Labuschagne, 78421898BT, 71 Field Workshop (South African Technical Services Corps), aged 23. Died due to a fatal gunshot wound obtained when another member's gun accidentally discharged and wounded him fatally. After years this member confessed to Hennie's parents that the Buffel story was just a cover-up. Original cause of death given to family was - Died in Freak Accident, fell off of a stationary Buffel, while busy with township patrols in KwaZikele, Port Elizabeth. He was taken to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

- 1986 31395 — Second Lieutenant Izak Johan Lourens, 82392879BG, 911 Battalion (South West African Territory Force), aged 19. Died of Meningitis and Malaria, at Opuwa Hospital.

- 1998 31482 — Rifleman Sikhum(Buzo) Zett Magabuka, 95717674, 1 Parachute Battalion (SA Army), aged 31. Died from gunshot wounds inflicted by unknown parties while off duty.
