Every record on the roll, filtered live. Combine a conflict, a force, a branch, a cause and a year — each panel recounts as you go, and nothing is estimated: every figure is a count of named records.
Conflicts overlap, so one rule resolves them. The Rhodesian Bush War (1964–1980) and the SA Border War (1966–1989) ran at the same time. A death counts as Rhodesian when the Force is RSF, BSAP or Rhodesian, and as Border War otherwise. Deaths by Conflict / Era splits the same years by date alone, so its totals differ.
Blanks are shown, not hidden. Records with no year of death or no age are counted in the totals and left out only of the panel that needs the missing field, so a panel can total less than the filter above it.
Units are counted across the whole roll and do not respond to the filters — they come from a pre-aggregated list.
