He had suffered a crushed hip and pelvis.

Died of wounds, received during the attack on Monte Sole and Monte Abelle in the vicinity of La Quercia, Italy. He died while still undergoing treatment at Wynberg Military Hospital, due to an embolism from these internal injuries which resulted in a brain hemorrhage.

- 1966 30247 — Field Cornet Stephanus Paulus Engelbrecht, 01211259E, Services School (South African Corps of Military Police (Corps)), aged 32. Found gassed to death in his car near the Eeufees Road shooting range, Pretoria. He was off duty and no foul play was suspected.

- 1974 49042 — Corporal R. Henry, 43081, First Battalion (Rhodesian African Rifles). Killed on active service, in a vehicle accident.

- 1974 41296 — Corporal Rodney Henry Ziracha, R43081, 1st Battalion (Rhodesian African Rifles), aged 36. Died of injuries, head injuries received in Motor Vehicle Accident, at Salisbury Central Hospital.

- 1977 38740 — Field Reservist Derek Arthur Partridge, 382677C, Duty Uniform (British South Africa Police), aged 47. DDied of heart attack, during training. He suffered a heart attack while busy with map reading exercises at Calgary Farm, near Salisbury.

- 1978 49728 — Private Andries Oupatjie Maidi, 78120490PB, 21 South African Infantry Battalion, aged 31. Murdered, kicked to death by a labourer, at Lenasia. He was off duty.

- 1979 40915 — Guard Mbengano, 1st Battalion (Guard Force). Died on active service.

- 1979 40610 — Guard Godfrey Zamba, Heidelberg Commando (Guard Force), aged 21. Died on active service.

- 1983 29828 — Lieutenant Frans Willem Conradie, W89802B, South West Africa Police Counter-Insurgency Wing: Ops-K Division (KOEVOET) (South West African Police), aged 30. Critically injured at about 18h00 when his vehicle overturned turning into the main street of Oshakati, opposite the Post Office. Taken to the sick bay at Sector 10 Headquarters and casevaced by Puma helicopter to the Base Army Surgical Hospital at AFB Ondangwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had suffered a crushed hip and pelvis.

- 1983 30600 — Special Sergeant Frans Hamakali, South West Africa Police Counter-Insurgency Wing: Ops-K Division (KOEVOET) (South West African Police), aged 34. Killed in action, Counter-insurgency duty in South West Africa. Member of Koevoet.

- 1983 36351 — Constable Molebatsi, S601413K, Botshabelo. Shot dead by natives.

- 1987 33237 — Airman Petrus Francois Terblanche, 84431386BG, Air Force Gymnasium (South African Air Force (Corps)), aged 19. Died in 1 Military Hospital of complications arising from measles and pneumonia.

- 1989 37896 — Detective Constable Terupa John Tseladimetlwe, S163811H, Western Transvaal Division, aged 25. Died in the execution of his duty as a member of the South African Police.

- 1990 31816 — Lieutenant Sean James McGuinness, 83486357PS, 42 Squadron, aged 23. Grievously burned on 12 September 1990 when his Aermacchi AM-3C Bosbok #925 crashed at Potchefstroom. He survived the crash but succumbed to his injuries in 1 Military Hospital on 23 September 1990.
