Between 1960 and 1968 the SADF officially named the rank of Lieutenant "Field Cornet" (Veldkornet), and this man died in September 1966, inside that window. The two are the same rank under the names in use at different times -- the era-dependent case already flagged in the bilingual-rank work of 15 Sep 2026, where it was left out of Rank.RankAfrikaans because the existing Field Cornet row also carries a different 1914-Rebellion meaning. Both readings are correct for this man; the stored one is what he was called at the time.
