Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 23 Sep 2026: "66015033PE Colonel Petrus Gerhardus Lourens Koen from the Technical Service Corps attached to 91 Ammunition Depot died in 1 Military Hospital after suffering a pulmonary embolism. He was 49. (NOTE: He is buried together with his son 2/Lieutenant Gerhardus Lourens Koen who Died on Service in the Operational Area on 18 September 1988)." FATHER AND SON, BOTH ON THIS ROLL and buried together: his son is PersonNumber 31117, Second Lieutenant Koen of 61 Mechanised Battalion Group, who died of injuries on 18 September 1988 when his Ratel overturned between Ogongo and Okalongo. The two records carry the same full name, which had looked like a possible duplication; Graham explains it. Cause of death (pulmonary embolism) and the 91 Ammunition Depot attachment are new to this record.
