"21 Sep 1981: 79820361SP Rifleman Sandik Sagarias Sikirila from 203 Battalion, South West African Territory Force Died in Vehicle Accident, on the District road Maanlig, South West Africa. Jumped out of a moving vehicle and landed under the wheels. He was 20."
Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 21 Sep 2026: "79820361SP Rifleman Sandik Sagarias Sikirila from 203 Battalion SWATF was accidentally killed on the Maanlig District road when he stumbled and fell after jumping off a moving military vehicle and the vehicle drove over him. He was 20." INDEPENDENT CONFIRMATION of this record, which was created on 16 Sep 2026 from Mike Sandham's "List 1" research log and had no second source until now. Service number, forenames, rank, unit, date, place and age all agree exactly. Cause of death rewritten as prose -- it had been carrying Mike's entire entry verbatim, date and service number included; his wording is preserved in the citation above.
21 Sep 2026: CauseDeath trimmed to the circumstance of death alone. On import it had been set to Mike Sandham's entire entry, repeating the date, service number, rank, name and unit that this record already holds in its own fields. His wording is quoted verbatim in the citation above, so nothing is lost. Defect found when Graham du Toit's Last Post of 21 Sep 2026 independently confirmed one of these records, Sikirila 49773.
