Sergeant Sello Mathews Mokoti, born 20 October 1984, age 39 at death. Devoted father to three children (youngest seven months at time of death). Served SAPS for 13 years from appointment 28 January 2011. Stationed at Limpopo Organised Crime Unit; high-risk investigations and operations. On 16 July 2024, acting on intelligence regarding an illicit drug delivery in Mankweng, team successfully apprehended a suspect; then violently attacked by an aggressive crowd; colleagues retreated with injuries; Mokoti sustained severe wounds; treated at Mankweng Hospital then transferred to Milpark Hospital, Johannesburg; died of injuries on 19 October 2024. Murder case under investigation. Name engraved on Wall of Remembrance for the 2024/2025 Roll of Honour (SAPS Commemoration magazine; Annual Report PERSAL 7188737-7).
