On 5 December 2024, reported for Safer Festive Season Operation stop-and-search along the R45 near Lothair; a private vehicle attempting to avoid a collision fatally struck him; declared deceased at the scene despite emergency response. Name engraved on Wall of Remembrance for the 2024/2025 Roll of Honour (SAPS Commemoration magazine; Annual Report R/Constable PERSAL 7105812-5).
