Sergeant Thabiso Andries Mareletse, born 29 June 1979, age 45 at death. Life partner; father of four children (youngest eight at time of death). Served SAPS for 18 years from appointment 8 January 2007. Stationed at SAPS Heilbron, Free State. In the early hours of 9 January 2025, while in pursuit of a suspect's vehicle on the R34 Edenville Road near Heilbron, the police vehicle he was travelling in was involved in a collision that claimed his life. Culpable homicide case opened for investigation. Name engraved on Wall of Remembrance for the 2024/2025 Roll of Honour (SAPS Commemoration magazine; Annual Report PERSAL 7086841-7).
