I strongly suspect that this man was my platoon sergeant in the SP Guards Bravo Coy (intake Jun 1985). If he is the same man then he was from Vanderbijlpark and died in Cape Town while we were on a practice exercise. He had only been our platoon sergeant for 3 or 4 months when he died from a mortar shrapnell wound to the head. A number of members of our platoon were injured in this incident.
