Absorbed from deleted PN 49371: Charlie's Omega, Danie van den Berg (memoir/history of Omega Base, 31 Battalion, Just Done Productions 2007), "List of 31 Bn soldiers killed during and after the Bushwar" (p.80-81) -- itself an extract from this ROH website (www.justdone.co.za/ROH/List_People.php?UnitAbv=31Bat, under the site's old PersonNumber scheme) cross-checked by the author against southafricawargraves.org and Ian Uys's book Bushman Soldiers - Their Alpha and Omega, with discrepancies between those sources ('Differ WGP', 'Differ I.Uys') noted where the author found them. Marked 'I' (Internal Conflict); the book flags this entry 'Differ WGP 1988/B' -- the War Graves Project apparently dates this death to 1988, during the Border War proper, not 1992.
Unit given as plain '31 Battalion' (not '31 (Bushman) Battalion' or '201 Battalion') to match other post-independence 'Internal Conflict'-era records already on file from the same period (e.g. Pontes PN 41793, Ponto PN 41805).

25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".
