Research notes
John Dovey, 1 Sep 2026: Regiment '1st Mounted Rifles (Natal Carbineers)' split -- Regiment set to the enduring regimental identity 'Natal Carbineers' (matching the plain-name OrgEntity used elsewhere for this regiment across other eras), with '1st Mounted Rifles' (the WWI-era mobilised formation name) moved into Unit, same convention as Durban Light Infantry's WWI name '1st Infantry (Durban Light Infantry)' living in Unit rather than Regiment.
