20758Lieutenant Walter A'Becket Probart, 226501V, Pretoria Regiment, S.A. Forces, aged 28. Killed in action. His tank was knocked out and he was wounded during the advance on Sarteano, Italy. He was taken to a first aid post for treatment but the post was hit by mortar fire and he was killed.

33927Lieutenant Freddie Johannes Zeelie, 68343599PE, 1 Recce Commando (1 Reconnaissance Regiment), aged 22. Killed in action, at Bwabwata Western Caprivi. While under attack by machine gun fire, he stormed the emplacements and overpowered one gun crew and forced the other to retreat. He was killed in the process.

29745Sergeant Jacobus Daniel (Koos) Cilliers, 73215824PE, 17 Sqdn. (South African Air Force), aged 23. Killed in action, shot down by RPG-7 in Alouette III #24. Both he and the pilot, Capt T van Rensburg, were thrown clear when the aircraft hit the ground. Cilliers was killed in the crash but the pilot escaped, and although injured, returned to the South African lines on foot. This was during the latter stages of Operation Sceptic. His body was recovered 2 years later.

Killed in action, after being struck by a Soviet RPG-7 Anti-Tank Rocket when their position at Okankolo was attacked by a numerically superior force of SWAPO/PLAN insurgents.

40662Lance Corporal Daniel Johannes Cronje, 85278729, 2 Special Service Battalion (South African Armoured Corps), aged 18. Died from a bullet wound to the head, at 1 Military Hospital. He was AWOL at the time and used his father's .22 revolver to play "Russian Roulette" while at his girlfriend's house.
