Francis Henry Coptcoat was born 13 Aug 1875 at Rowney Abbey Sacombe Herts (his father Thomas was in service). He lived at Widford Herts and was killed in action in the Boer War, at Moir Biru Ladysmith South Africa, aged 24yrs on 4 April 1900. This information is from the family Bible where he is mentioned as being in the 21st Field Battery. He was my grandfather's brother and was the second child of Thomas and Louisa Coptcoat who had nine children in all.
