School; Technical High School, Durban / Glenwood High School 1931-32) 2186 Private Royal Durban Light Infantry Born Durban 17/11/1917; a clerk before enlistment; served with the 2nd Battalion in North Africa; captured at Tobruk; drowned when the British submarine HMS SAHIB torpedoed & sank “SS SCILLIN”, an Italian transport ship carrying POWs, in the Mediterranean Sea. (Body never recovered.) Alamein Memorial to the Missing, El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
