Frederick Broome was born in 1876 in Forest Hill, Kent to Charles Saville Broome & his wife nee Emily Bellyse. He had 3 sisters. He died of enteric fever. His father was a brother of Judge William Broome and Sir Frederick Napier Broome. The Broome family were living in New Zealand at the time he joined the army.
