Jordan, Royal Durban Light Infantry WWII Roll of Honour ("working document", Aug 2026 draft; email to John & Bobby, 4 Sep 2026, marked "not 100% correct"): GIBSON, Peter Stanley (Son of Louisa Ellen (nee Ingle) Gibson; father Peter Gibson deceased; husband of Ruth Gibson of Hampden Road, Morningside, Durban; his first wife Blanche Mary (nee Parrott) Gibson died 13/9/1934; they had a young daughter Denise Blanche Gibson died 13/9/1934.) 92976 Private Royal Durban Light Infantry Born Durban 18/10/1908; a carpenter by trade; married Blanche Mary Parrott in St James Church 2/9/1933; married Ruth Wallace in St. Mary’s Church 29/1/1938. He served with the 1st Battalion RDLI in North Africa; died / drowned when the (former Italian) hospital ship Ramb IV sank, after being bombed & set on fire by German aircraft off Alexandria, Egypt. (Body never recovered.) Alamein Memorial to the Missing, El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
