Son of Alexander Stewart and Elizabeth Frances Fraser, of Gatooma, Zimbabwe. Entered Lloyd House in January, 1935. After leaving School in 1939, he entered the Civil Service in the Surveyor-General's Department, Salisbury. He joined the Military Forces and was transferred to the Air Force in October, 1941.
