NEW ROH record -- the service number appears nowhere on the roll and every McCormack/McCormick here is a First or Second World War casualty.
- Linked to the Engineer School. Graham calls it the School of Engineers; the roll also holds a South African Army Engineer School, which is the later name.
Mike Sandham OMISSIONS: 26 SEPTEMBER (26 Sep 2026), quoting the South African War Graves Project: "79579041BG Sapper Lloyd Charles McCormack from the South African Corps of Engineers Attached to 5 MWU Died in Private Motorbike Accident, at Scottburgh, Natal. He was 19." CONFIRMED hours after this record was created from Graham -- service number, rank, forenames, surname, cause, place and age all agree.
- CORPS ADDED: both sources put him in the engineers, so the South African Engineer Corps is now recorded. That is the form 743 men on this roll use; Mike writes "South African Corps of Engineers", which the roll also holds as a separate entity used by one record. The same corps under two names.
- POSTING CONFLICT, NOT RESOLVED: Graham says he was "from the School of Engineers", and this record is linked to the Engineer School on that basis. Mike says he was attached to 5 MWU. A sapper cannot be posted to a training school and attached to a maintenance works unit in the same breath, and nothing here says which is right. The link stands on Graham's reading, Mike's is recorded, and neither is presented as settled. Note also that the roll's only 5 MWU entity is "5 MWU at Army Battle School", which carries a qualifier Mike does not give and which holds nobody, so linking to it would have added a claim of its own.
