"14 Jan 1978: 71346720PR Gunner Hendrik Jacobus Maasberg from 14 Field Regiment, South African Artillery Corps Died of injuries, received in Motorbike Accident, at Johannesburg on 11 January, while off duty. He was 22."
21 Sep 2026: CauseDeath trimmed to the circumstance of death alone. On import it had been set to Mike Sandham's entire entry, repeating the date, service number, rank, name and unit that this record already holds in its own fields. His wording is quoted verbatim in the citation above, so nothing is lost. Defect found when Graham du Toit's Last Post of 21 Sep 2026 independently confirmed one of these records, Sikirila 49773.
