Raised in the Eastern Cape in February 1900 under Colonel Crewe; part of Brabant's Colonial Division (relief of Wepener, Brandwater Basin, later Cape Colony). Stirling, J. The site's separate 57-page WO100/236 QSA medal-roll PDF for this corps is a clasp entitlement roll (resignations/transfers in Remarks), not itself a casualty source. Recorded in the roll as "Aliwal N. Died" on 4.4.00. The Border Horse were stationed at Aliwal North in April 1900 after Labuschagne's Nek, before the advance to Wepener.
