Border Horse enrollment/discharge ledger (WO127-style nominal roll scan on angloboerwar.com's Border Horse unit page, 'Nominal roll images' tab, Roll 1). Raised in the Eastern Cape in February 1900 under Colonel Crewe; part of Brabant's Colonial Division (relief of Wepener, Brandwater Basin, later Cape Colony). Stirling, J. (1907), The Colonials in South Africa 1899-1902, as reproduced on the same unit page. Not previously on the ROH; Border Horse did not exist as a unit in this database. The site's separate 57-page WO100/236 QSA medal-roll PDF for this corps is a clasp entitlement roll (resignations/transfers in Remarks), not itself a casualty source. Recorded in the roll as "Aliwal N. Died" on 4.4.00. The Border Horse were stationed at Aliwal North in April 1900 after Labuschagne's Nek, before the advance to Wepener.
