Not previously on the ROH -- this is a preliminary pass drawing only on the unit's narrative Overview; the site's own 29+-page 'Nominal roll images' tab for this ~500-strong corps has not yet been reviewed and is a strong candidate for a dedicated future pass, the same kind of source that yielded the Border Mounted Rifles and Ashburner's Light Horse additions made the same day. "On the 20th one squadron was ambushed about six miles south of Vryheid, very few escaping. Captain Goff, 3rd Dragoon Guards, Lieutenants Lanham and M'Lachlan, and about 26 non-commissioned officers and men, were killed."
