Research notes

Cemetery/Locality set 22 Aug 2026: all Boer POWs who died on St Helena (1900-1902) were buried at the purpose-built Baptist cemetery at Knollcombes, Longwood (sainthelenaisland.info; St Helena National Trust Education Pack 4.3). Individual grave number not set — the two 1913/1902 monument obelisks index names to grave numbers but no digitised list could be found (checked WMBR, Find a Grave cemetery 2381789, graves-at-eggsa.org). | eGGSA Knollcombes monument transcription 22 Aug 2026 (grave 60): monument age 43 vs ROH 44.
5 Sep 2026: Regiment/Unit swapped -- "Prisoner of War" (a Commando, the Boer War-era regiment-equivalent) moved to Regiment; "Boer Forces" (the generic force-wide designation) moved to Unit, per John's decision.
