Gillings, While They Kept The Flag Flying: Field Cornet Sarel Oosthuizen was promoted combat general by Gen. Lucas Meyer on 24 February 1900 over Krugersdorp and Rustenburg elements during the Hart’s Hill fighting (Thukela Heights). He survived that battle; ROH DateDeath is 14 August 1900 at Zanddrift, Pretoria.
