The stored number was contamination, not a reading of this man's record: PersonNumbers 41639 to 41651 -- 13 consecutive records -- all carried the identical number 05210935E, which belongs to the record at the head of that run (41639, Blignaut, Daniel (D)). A value repeated down a consecutive block of PersonNumbers is a forward-fill import artefact, not men who shared a service number. Mike's log supplies a different and plausible number for this man specifically, so the stored value is known-wrong regardless of whether the replacement proves exact.
