Died of wounds, received in the crash of 357 Squadron Hudson AM949 "A" at approximately 0300 on the 15th of March at position 23 degrees 44 min N, 98 deg 48 min E (near Kokang on the Burma/Siam Border). F/Lt Ponsford, died on the ground from wounds at 1000 on the 15th. The sixth and final crewman, F/O Prosser was found comatose with a fractured skull, lacerations of forehead and face, and multiple fractures of the right ankle
