Son of Johannes (Hans) and Maria (Marie) Vos (nee van Zyl). One of 3 children, the only boy. He has an older sister Antoinette Brits, and a younger Anne-Marie Denyssechn. He grew up Boksburg JHB and the three kids went to boarding school in Potchefstroom - he matriculated at Hoer Tegniese Skool Potchefstroom. After his parents divorced, his mother moved to Edenvale where they [his mom & Anne-Marie] resided until this tragedy hit. His mother and one sister lives in Pretoria and the other sister lived in Namibia but immigrated to Canada late last year. His father passed away in 2004/2005. ref.
