Stories 2
by John Arthur on 22 April 2012
See John Drakes dedication for the story of what happened on that day, they both got killed together. It was an ambush while they were on section patrol.

I remember John as a all round good guy. We did all our training together in the same platoon. I remember him taking a bet with me that I could not stop smoking. He forgot about the bet , but it was my reaction to being caught out that gave me away. Only then did he remember . The bet was 10 x 2 litre bottles of cool drink. I think about those lost so young RIP Bruce white.

by Greatly missed John Finnegan on 21 August 2012
A wonderful friend I met in June 1980 going up to Upington from Durban on the train and stayed friend until he was killed on the 14 January 1982 . Never forgotten, Bruce. He volunteered to join the army as he was born in Rhodesia. Every pass he drove Arthur Luiz, Kevin Holdsworth and myself back to Durban and back again to Upington .
