Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 24 Sep 2026: "86452034PE Captain Paul Louw van Wyk from 116 Battalion was murdered when he was deliberately shot dead by one of his troops, Rifleman James Matome Hlungwane while stationed at Vhembe Base. He was 24." Cause of death rewritten and reclassified: the stored text read "Died in Shooting Incident, shot by fellow SANDF member, at Messina", which does not convey that he was DELIBERATELY killed by a man under his command. ActualCause changed to "Murdered" and CauseCode to MURD accordingly. Graham names the killer -- Rifleman James Matome Hlungwane -- and the place as Vhembe Base; Messina (Musina) lies in the Vhembe district, so the two locations agree, Graham's being the more precise. AGE CONFLICT flagged, not changed: Graham 24, this record 23.
- The named killer is NOT on this roll: the only Hlungwane here is a police sergeant who died in 1996.
