Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 22 Sep 2026: "P1/33522 Lieutenant Neil Ashcroft Stocks DFC, Air Medal (US) from Air Operations School Langebaanweg was killed in Vampire FB-9 Serial 236 during a training exercise at the Anti-Aircraft range at Strandfontein when he executed a low level, high speed, mock attack on the anti-aircraft gun positions and flew into the ground. He was 30." TWO DECORATIONS ADDED which this record did not carry: the Distinguished Flying Cross and the United States Air Medal. The aircraft (Vampire FB-9 #236), the Strandfontein anti-aircraft range and the mock attack are also new detail.
