On 17 February 1987, 32 Battalion was ordered to move to 101 Battalion, for tactical deployment in the vicinities of Mupa, Anhanca, Nehone and Evale. From here they launched aggressive patrols to try and flush out the enemy. At 11H50 on 12 March a patrol from Golf Company, operating near Evale, engaged in a heavy fifteen minute firefight with some 40 enemy, During which Rifleman R, Sikote was killed and five more 32 Battalion men wounded.
