Data correction 23 Aug 2026: Unit2 previously read "attd. 61 Mechanised Battalion Group", flagged by John Dovey as chronologically impossible since 61 Mechanised Battalion Group was not formed until 1978/1979, well after this person's death. Cross-checked against the 61 Mech Veterans Association official Roll of Honour (61mech.org.za/index.php/roll-of-honour) and found no matching entry on either roll tab. Value cleared as a data-entry error; primary Unit/UnitID left as recorded. SN CORRECTION 25 Aug 2026: ServiceNo 72393762PE cleared -- the pantser.cmvo.org.za SADF deaths PDF lists that number under "NORTJE, GERHARDUS FREDERIK" (SGT, Sterf 01 02 86), matching PersonNumber 32308 (Nortje, DateDeath 1986-02-01) by surname and exact date, not this record. Original value: "72393762PE". Left as an unresolved collision otherwise -- this correction is specific to this one PDF-confirmed case, not a general claim this record's other data is wrong.
