I was with Newton-Thompson in HQ Company in Oudtshoorn from 04 January 1965. We were in the Vickers ,.303 Medium Machine Gun Platoon and we went on a cross country run as we called it. It was a very hot day and my friend collapsed and die a day or two later . I later met his sister and we worked together for a while in 1994.
