If the info was on a memorial stone at the Baptist Church in Boksburg, then the person's real initials is NSH. He died during the battle of Colenso on 15/16 Dec 1900. He was shot in the hip and fell from his horse. He then crawled to a nearby railway line on which was a stationary coach. Under the coach he found shelter from where he returned fire. The enemy sighted his position and directed heavy fire at the coach. The next morning his friends came back to look for him. They counted 22 wounds in his body. With the unveiling of the memorial, one of his friends told this tale DN van Zweel, great grandson.
