Ref SANDF 1998 RoH
26 Aug 2026: Corps from SAWGP Regiment South West African Territory Force; Unit leftover "2 South African Infantry Battalion" → 701 Battalion (SAWGP Unit).
Mike Sandham's research log ("List 1"), imported 16 Sep 2026, credited to The South Africa War Graves Project unless his entry says otherwise: gives Age 22 against this record's 20. This record has no date of birth, so there is nothing to adjudicate with. Flagged, not changed.
25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".

War In Angola Roll of Honour, pages 138-141 ("Unknown" category): a "Mngomo M.S." entry with no SN and unit "701 Battalion" appears on the site — ROH has "Mngomo F N U" 1982-05-13, SN 81564692PP, unit "2 South African Infantry Battalion". Same date but conflicting unit; not confidently the same person, not merged.
