Research notes

Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 17 Sep 2026: 93663565PV Rifleman Thaloki John Kanyane, 7 SAI, killed in the same Ops Boleas vehicle accident as Makalela (31513). Two CONFLICTS flagged, not changed: age (this record 22, Graham 25), and place -- this record says "at Bloemfontein", while Graham, and Makalela's own record, put the accident in Lesotho.
Bushwar Books "Lest We Forget 17 September" (warbooks.co.za/posts/lest-we-forget-17-september/), cross-checked 17 Sep 2026: age 25 (agreeing with Graham against this record's 22), but places the accident "in Bloemfontein" -- agreeing with THIS record against Graham's Lesotho. Bushwar does not list Makalela (31513), whose record says Lesotho. Location now two sources to one for Bloemfontein; could be an Ops Boleas vehicle that crashed in Bloemfontein en route. Not resolved.
25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".
