Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 24 Aug 2026: 78913084SP Rifleman Adao Joaquim, 32 Battalion, accidentally killed in cross-fire from own forces during a contact with enemy forces in Southern Angola, age 26. Source spells surname "Joaquim"; this record has "Joaquin" -- not changed, both are plausible transliterations. SN 78913084SP is also shared by three unrelated pre-existing records (30872-30874, "Joaquim, Joao", dates 1977/1985/1990) -- pre-existing collision, not resolved here.
Mike Sandham, 28 Aug 2026 omissions mail: 32 Bn Tree of Honour (transcription by Derek Walker, graves-at-eggsa.org, site now inactive) lists "Joaquim A, 32 Bn" with Date of Death 1981-08-28 -- 4 days later than this record's 1981-08-24 (from the 24 Aug 2026 Graham pass). Same person as this record, not a separate omission -- Sandham's own email flags the same suspicion. Date not changed (two sources conflict, Graham's more detailed account preferred); noted here rather than adding a duplicate record.
25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".
