Col (rt) Graham du Toit, Last Post, 30 Aug 2026 gives Cpl J.J. Basson, 'B Squadron 1 Special Service Battalion', Died of Wounds after being grievously burned in an accidental white-phosphorus mortar bomb explosion during a training exercise north of Etale Base, age 19. CONFLICT: ROH's stored Unit is 'Regiment Oranjerivier' (a different unit) -- not changed, this record's sourcing (Mibisa Western Cape, old ROH PersonNumber 54) predates this session and its Unit value isn't necessarily wrong just because it differs from Graham's account. Cause of death (phosphorus mortar burns at Etale) matches exactly. ServiceNo suffix also differs (ROH 'BC' vs Graham 'BA') -- not changed, both plausible OCR/transcription variants of an old record.
