My father was in the British Army and worked with the Bechuanaland Protectorate Police Force during the hand-over to independence in the early 1960s. He was based in Mafeking and Gaberones. He was interested in war graves and found a displaced war grave plaque for a Lance Corporal Schenck (sic). My father tried but was unable to trace the family or grave site at the time so now, with the internet, we are trying to do so, on his behalf. It seems that a Lance Corporal Schenk was buried at Mochudi Road (335 yards E by S of Molotwane station). Could this be his plaque? It would be good to return it to his relatives.
