(Bulwer Park / Park View Primary School, Mansfield Junior High School) 6544 Private Royal Durban Light Infantry Born Durban 29/9/1908; a clerk before enlistment; served with the 1st Battalion RDLI in North Africa; WIA 2/1/1942; killed in action at Point 141 near Gazala, Libya. 7 (June 1942 was the worst day in RDLI history, with 15 fatalities, with a further 2 dying of wounds in the following days.)
