LG Sup 25 April 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He made a reconnaissance of his company front through deep mud and waterlogged shell holes, though much exhausted before he started, under heavy fire. He promptly filled up a gap of 500 yards winch he found between himself and the company on his right, and also sent in valuable information."
