Trooper James William Lynd was a New Zealander. His mother was Emma Jackson from the Jackson whalers in the South Island of New Zealand. He joined the Queensland Contingent and died near Pienaar River - wounded on the night of 23 OCT 1900. His half-brother Charles Stent was also in the Anglo Boer - 3rd NZ Contingent Rough Riders but survived. Charles is my GGF.

His gravesite is unknown but his name does feature in ANZAC Square, Brisbane, Australia Richard Stent
