George Edward Samuel was born Ficksburg 8/10/1870. He is the grandson of 1820 settler Samuel Liversage and the 9th child of Samuel m. Wilhelmina Magdalena VAN NIEKERK. He died near Ladysmith 6/1/1900. He epitomized the spirit of the pioneer to the South African nation Graeme Engelbrecht
