He served with the 2nd Regiment in France; fought at Delville Wood in July 1916; WIA thigh 10/10/1916; WIA (head, back - severe) 21/03/1918 in the 2nd Battle of the Marne; died of wounds in the South African Hospital, Richmond, England. Buried/commemorated: Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England.
