Jordan, Royal Durban Light Infantry WWII Roll of Honour ("working document", Aug 2026 draft; email to John & Bobby, 4 Sep 2026, marked "not 100% correct"): JAMES, John Lamb (Son of George & Augusta Louisa James of 73 Broadway Court, Broad Street, Durban; resided at Kings Mansions, Esplanade.) 5109 Private Royal Durban Light Infantry Born Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland 4/1/1914; a clerk with the SAR&H before enlistment; served with the 1st Battalion RDLI in North Africa; captured & evacuated to Italy; died of wounds (septicaemia and myocarditis), whilst a POW in the military hospital in Piacenza, Italy. Milan War Cemetery, Italy.
