Small intelligence corps raised for service in the extreme north of the Transvaal, the same district the Bush Veldt Carbineers had worked in until disbanded. Made sundry small captures of prisoners January-April 1902. Their post at Spelonkin was attacked on 23 March 1902 but held out; Captain Beddy and several men were wounded. Fighting occurred at Haenertsburg on 16 April 1902 with some losses (no individuals named on the unit page). Captain W Beddy was mentioned in Lord Kitchener's final despatch under 'Intelligence Department'. No deaths recorded against this unit on angloboerwar.com. Administratively on the same status as the National Scouts -- at least one QSA medal (Tpr C Fernandes) is recorded on the National Scouts roll (WO100/262 p.139) with a note that it should be inscribed to Beddy's Scouts, rather than Beddy's Scouts having its own separate medal roll.
No Roll of Honour records are linked to this regiment as their regiment.
