21205Flying Officer Harry Frederick Raynham, 151064, 463 (R.A.A.F.) Sqdn. (Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve), aged 25. Killed in action, crew took off from RAF Waddington in Lancaster DV280 JO-S, as part of a force of 123 aircraft to attack the synthetic oil plant at Scholven-Buer in the Ruhr valley. DV280 was shot down at a height of 16,000 ft over the Uden-Heimond area by a night fighter who also shot down a Lancaster from 57 Squadron, NN696, on the same night. F/O. Kenneth Forth survived the crash and became a prisoner of war. The rest of the crew, including Harry were killed and are all buried in Uden War Cemetery, Netherlands.

Killed in action, Wesseling Raid 21/22 June 1944, Lancaster ME804 took off from RAF Dumholme Lodge at 2326 on an operation to bomb the oil refinery works at Wesseling along with 132 other Lancasters and Mosquitoes, shot down by German nightfighter.

30442Lieutenant Albert Garrett Frisby, P1/34914, 2 Sqdn. (South African Air Force), aged 27. Killed in action, in North American F-51 Mustang #337. Lt A.G. Frisby was leading a flight of four Mustangs on an armed reconnaissance just north of Hanpo-ri. The flight had reached a position roughly four miles north-west of Sibyon-ni, when Lt Frisby reported that he had been hit by anti-aircraft fire and was baling out at an altitude of 1000 feet. His aircraft's canopy was seen to fly off and a brown object, probably the pilot, was seen to fall from the crippled aircraft. No parachute was seen though, and it would appear that Lt Frisby's parachute failed to open. His pilotless aircraft, turning to the left, continued to lose height until it struck flat ground near a river and was destroyed. An intensive search by two members of the flight failed to find him, and a search conducted by four aircraft later that day also failed to find any sign of him.
