32675Lance Corporal Carlos Alberto Correia Pinto Ribeiro, 75090423PG, AFB Ysterplaat (1 Reconnaissance Regiment), aged 25. Missing believed killed, during a contact between Luenge and Coutada du Mucusso about a week before S Sgts Roxo and Soeiro were killed, much further south along the Okavango river. He was driving a Unimog loaded with a tonne or more of explosives when he ran into an ambush while the company he served in was on its way back to Buffalo. He was probably hit by a RPG 7 which meant that the whole truck exploded and his remains could not be recovered. It was because of that incident that Col Breytenbach sent Ribeiro senior home to visit his mother after the second ambush in which Daniel Roxo et al were killed and which led to Robbie Ribeiro also getting killed in that nasty overtaking incident on the Golden highway.

Assigned to an escort detail that was to protect a Water Works JCB that had the task of repairing the water pipeline between Charlie Tower at Engela hospital and Eenhana. On the way there the JCB got stuck in the mud on several occasions. Nel and his buddy (Reyneke), got off the armoured vehicle and stayed close to the JCB with the intention of assisting it through the mud whenever it got close to getting stuck. From this point on, the going was really good, until the JCB detonated a land mine with one of its back wheels. Nel was killed instantly.

- 1976 39222 — Acting Corporal Fraser Samuel Gamble, R39779T, 1 Reserve Holding Unit (Rhodesian Defence Regiment), aged 32. Killed in action, in a contact.

- 1976 32675 — Lance Corporal Carlos Alberto Correia Pinto Ribeiro, 75090423PG, AFB Ysterplaat (1 Reconnaissance Regiment), aged 25. Missing believed killed, during a contact between Luenge and Coutada du Mucusso about a week before S Sgts Roxo and Soeiro were killed, much further south along the Okavango river. He was driving a Unimog loaded with a tonne or more of explosives when he ran into an ambush while the company he served in was on its way back to Buffalo. He was probably hit by a RPG 7 which meant that the whole truck exploded and his remains could not be recovered. It was because of that incident that Col Breytenbach sent Ribeiro senior home to visit his mother after the second ambush in which Daniel Roxo et al were killed and which led to Robbie Ribeiro also getting killed in that nasty overtaking incident on the Golden highway.

- 1978 40548 — Sapper Frank Sinclair Warner, 21130, 1 Squadron (Rhodesian Corps of Engineers), aged 20. Died of injuries, received in a vehicle accident.

- 1979 40683 — Corporal James John Duff, R41949, 1st Battalion (Rhodesian Army), aged 31. Died on active service.

- 1979 39380 — District Security Assistant Sikuta Gumbo, 644835, 1st Battalion (Internal Affairs), aged 20. Died on active service.

- 1982 32013 — Rifleman Modiakhotla Johannes Moses, 79861365HV, 101 Battalion (South West African Territory Force), aged 43. Died in Military Vehicle Accident,at Ladybrand.

- 1982 32205 — Lance Corporal David John Nel, 80217755BG, 1 Construction Regiment (South African Corps of Engineers), aged 18. Killed in action, landmine. Assigned to an escort detail that was to protect a Water Works JCB that had the task of repairing the water pipeline between Charlie Tower at Engela hospital and Eenhana. On the way there the JCB got stuck in the mud on several occasions. Nel and his buddy (Reyneke), got off the armoured vehicle and stayed close to the JCB with the intention of assisting it through the mud whenever it got close to getting stuck. From this point on, the going was really good, until the JCB detonated a land mine with one of its back wheels. Nel was killed instantly.

- 1983 33431 — Lance Corporal Hermanus Nieuwoudt Van Der Walt, 78358082, 44 Sqdn. (South African Air Force), aged 22. Died in a private motor car accident at Halfway House.

- 1984 32773 — Corporal Albert Ryan, 74221037PE, 32 (Buffalo) Battalion (South West African Territory Force), aged 25. Died of injuries, sustained in a private motor vehicle accident at Port Shepstone.

- 1988 30813 — Lance Corporal Raymond Victor Jagga, 84276195BG, Regiment De Wet (School of Armour), aged 19. Killed in action, in contact with the enemy. Ratel hit by two RPGs. One hit engine, the other went through the door.

- 1988 33462 — Gunner Jaco Petrus Van Der Merwe, 84435338BG, 10 Artillery Brigade (South African Artillery), aged 19. Missing, presumably drowned, after he went swimming in a river and disappeared. It is thought that he was taken by a crocodile, Ops 1 area. He has no known grave and remains unaccounted for.

- 1989 36524 — Constable S Phillip Mphahlele, S604536N, Cleveland (South African Police), aged 30. Died of wounds, received after being shot when stopping to investigate a disturbance in Cleveland, Johannesburg.

- 1989 37560 — Constable Sorab Shongwe, S604359F, Gauteng (South African Police), aged 35. Died in a Motor Vehicle Accident.

- 1990 35139 — David (Peter) Kennedy, 7368(M), 35 Dist (Ermelo) Tvl Div (South African Police), aged 22. Died on active service.

- 1992 35730 — Constable Johannes Maluleke, 0629534-7, Municipal Police (South African Police), aged 44. Shot dead in Katlehong while escorting a delivery vehicle into the area.

- 1992 37885 — Constable Deon Johannes Tontsi, 0629832-0, Municipal Police (South African Police), aged 31. Shot dead in Katlehong while escorting a delivery vehicle into the area.

- 1992 37908 — Detective Sergeant Patricia Jabulile Tshazi, 0151364-8, Kwazulu Natal (South African Police), aged 24. Drowned when patrol car was washed off a bridge.

- 1993 32847 — Lance Corporal Douglas Gardiner Scott, 90363979BG, 4 South African Infantry Battalion (1st Special Service Battalion), aged 18. Died on active service.

- 1997 34288 — Sergeant or Const Gavin Mark Cele, 629112-1, Port Natal Division (South African Police), aged 27. Shot dead by a gunman while investigating a tip off regarding illegal weapons in Kwathema.

- 1997 36937 — Sergeant Leonard Nombele, 0512165-5, Kwazulu Natal (South African Police), aged 24. Shot dead by unknown gunmen while on foot patrol in central Johannesburg.

- 1997 32972 — Rifleman Mkhacani Thomas Sithole, 86734076PE, 116 South African Infantry Battalion (South African Infantry Corps), aged 19. Died while manning a roadblock at Pondtdrat. He was hit by a taxi.

- 1997 33238 — Rocco Terblanche, 90294398, 111 South African Infantry Battalion (South African Infantry Corps), aged 22. Died on active service.
