Jordan, Royal Durban Light Infantry WWII Roll of Honour ("working document", Aug 2026 draft; email to John & Bobby, 4 Sep 2026, marked "not 100% correct"): ADAMS, Norman Cecil (Son of James & Isabella Adams; husband of Marie Grace Caroline (born Edwards) Adams, of Flat #3 Highbury, Bartle Road, Durban.) 7241 Private Royal Durban Light Infantry Born Scotland 15/8/1900; a bus driver before enlistment; served with the 2nd Battalion RDLI in North Africa; drowned at sea, when German submarine U-177 torpedoed and sank S. S. NOVA SCOTIA off the coast of Zululand. He had 2 daughters and 3 sons. (Body never recovered.) Alamein Memorial to the Missing, El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
