Stirling: on 12 September 1901 Colonel Monro's column was heavily engaged with Commandant Smuts at Stavelberg, eastern Cape Colony, and lost 7 killed and 6 wounded (the wounded including Lieutenant Pollard, who appears later in this roll as a surviving officer).
